We are almost halfway through the month! Which means you have over half the month to tick off your October bucket list. I absolutely love a bucket list, whether it be for the year, the season, or just a month! It’s kind of like having a menu of things to choose from if you’re looking for something seasonal to do.

Try to not to put pressure on yourself to do every “October” thing imaginable. If this list looks daunting, make a conscious decision to choose only a specific number of things that look fun to you and try to complete those!
- Get a pumpkin. From a patch, the grocery store, or farmer’s market. You totally don’t even have to carve it! Get some friends together and paint pumpkins. Or cut it open just to roast the seeds. Or just simply display the whole pumpkin somewhere cute for the month.
…
- Gather friends or a significant other for a movie night. Obviously it’s a bonus here if you choose a Halloween themed movie. Bring everyone together for a cozy night of snacks and maybe some themed drinks! If you’re having a few friends over, I highly recommend a movie that is easy to watch and talk over.
…
- Read a thriller, mystery, or horror novel. You knew I had to add in a book related item. There is no better time for a mystery or horror novel than October! For some suggestions, see my post 10 Books that feel like Fall.
…
- Drink a seasonal beverage. Treat yourself at least once this month to a drink you wouldn’t normally have. I almost never get coffee when I’m out as I really don’t drink it except with breakfast. But this month, I’ve gotten myself a good ole pumpkin spiced latte multiple times. It’s a great treat!!
…
- Bake something with apple or pumpkin. Make a seasonal cookie. It can be from a mix or from scratch. There are plenty of options in your local grocery store if you look down the seasonal or baking aisle.
…
- Listen to ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ on repeat. I love the album. Enough said!!
…
- Light a fall scented candle. You know the candle you have been saving all season because it was just SOOOO perfect that you couldn’t burn it in September because it wasn’t fall enough yet. It’s time!
…
- Visit a farmer’s market. I’m lucky enough that in Orlando, there are multiple farmer’s markets each week. Try to visit one even if you don’t plan to purchase anything. Take a stroll around and enjoy the outdoors.
…
- Roast pumpkin seeds. This was something my mom always did for us growing up. There are a ton of recipes online but as far as I remember, just scoop the seeds out of the pumpkin, let them dry out a bit, put some salt on, and put them in the oven! I’d totally check for specifics before going all in, but it’s super easy!
…
- Decorate your home for fall or Halloween. Decorating is as fun as you make it! My brother and I used to love making our own decorations, which you can still do! There is a world of creativity on Pinterest, but if that’s not your vibe, hit up Dollar Tree for some super affordable decor that will still bring the spooky vibes to your home.
…
- Start a journal if you haven’t already. You can journal on just about anything. Personally, I keep a daily journal where I write about my day to day life. You can keep a gratitude journal, a junk journal, or a sporadic journal, but just know that writing is beyond therapeutic.
…
- Reignite a hobby you had as a child. Think about things you used to love doing! For me it was writing, which actually lead me to blogging. Maybe you used to love art. Or playing dress up, singing, dancing, or a sport. Research ways you can integrate this into your adult life.
…
- Have a cozy solo coffee shop date. Take yourself to a local coffee shop. Or a chain, we don’t judge. You can bring a book or magazine to thumb through. Or maybe bring your laptop to catch up on some favorite blogs or YouTubers. Make it be special time for just you.
…
- Go for an evening or morning walk and take photos of the foliage. The cooler weather here in Florida has me absolutely loving my morning or evening walks. As you walk, notice things you haven’t before. Keep your phone away or if you have to have it out, use it to take photos of the seemingly mundane. You may be surprised!
…
- Fix your sleep schedule. It’s about to be the middle of fall and we are gearing up for winter. Cozy yourself into bed at a reasonable hour and get to sleep. It’s good for you!
…
- Binge watch ‘Sabrina’ or ‘Gilmore Girls.’ I just recently started ‘Sabrina’ and have been loving it! I can tell it will be a great comfort show for years to come. But if you’re not a fan, there is always ‘Gilmore Girls,’ one of the most reliable comfort shows out there.
…
- Love hard. Love and appreciate those around you every day. Love and appreciate your life every day. Gratitude leads you straight to fulfillment and enjoying the little interactions you have every day can change your life!
Above all don’t forget to enjoy the season. If you’re not a bucket list person that’s okay! Enjoy all that this season has to offer, no pressure added. Some of my favorite memories from the season come unplanned. xo
