Hi hi to all of my spring time girlies! I haven’t shared a more personal post in a while so the timing felt right for this one – my spring time morning routine. I’m a huge lover of routines and habits as those are the building blocks of reaching our goals and creating the happiest life possible.
I’ve spent years adjusting my morning routines and it still changes year to year and even season to season. My morning routine truly sets me up for a good day (most of the time) and I have taken the time to squeeze in as many things that I love as possible.
Each season, I like to add in sprinkles of the season to add some whimsy to my routine. Little changes or additions to each part of my routine is how I romanticize the season.
I’m sure to include all of my little ways that I romanticize my spring morning routine below as well <3
Spring Morning Routine
5:30am – wake up!
I wasn’t always a 5:30am girl. Even just over a year ago, I was rolling out of bed around 7:40am to quickly get ready to leave my house at 8:00am, without even having breakfast and then drinking my coffee in the car.
I won’t say it gets easier waking up this early, but it gets better, if that makes sense. I know I’m getting up to make my morning more enjoyable, and to start my day happy.
Usually I wake up to my iPhone alarm, but if you can, I recommend setting your alarm to a calm song that you like or getting something like a Hatch Sunrise Alarm to wake you up in a softer way.
Once I’m out of bed, I head to our bathroom to get ready for the gym and do my skincare. My morning skincare is as follows:
- Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP Anti-Wrinkle Serum
- Medik8 Daily Radiance Vitamin C Cream with SPF 30
Then I put on my little gym outfit and head out the door!
5:30am wake up time tips:
- Set a soft alarm that doesn’t make your heart race when you wake up.
- Do not go on your phone until you’re out of the bed.
- Don’t think too hard before getting out of bed.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Pick your favorite soft song to wake up to. Something that feels like spring.
- Wear floral pjs, even though you’re about to change out of them.
- Wear a floral or spring themed perfume to get ready.

6:00am – workout time
Just like I wasn’t always a 5:30am girl, I was definitely not always a morning workout girl. Up until a few months ago, my workouts were always after the workday.
Come to find out, I LOVE a morning workout. My routine is below:
- Monday – reformer pilates
- Tuesday – lower body and core at the gym
- Wednesday – upper body and core at the gym
- Thursday – rest day OR morning walk
- Friday – mat or reformer pilates OR cardio at the gym (depending on energy levels)
Sometimes it does feel slightly torturous getting myself to the workout, but during and after, I literally feel like I could take on the world; it’s a feeling I never got after my evening workouts.
And now that it’s spring and clocks have gone forward, it’s still dark out even when I finish my workout which sounds like a bad thing. But it really feels like I complete the hardest part of the day before the day actually has started.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Create a spring workout playlist.
- Wear cute pastel workout sets.
…
7:00am – prepare breakfast
Once I get home, I make myself breakfast. I seriously cannot stomach food super early before the gym so I always eat after. Most days, I have a plain toasted bagel, strawberries, and coffee.
I know it’s not the world’s most exciting, delicious, or healthy breakfast, but I absolutely love it and I look forward to it every morning.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Seasonal fruits! So I usually have strawberries in the spring and summer, then apples in the fall, raspberries in winter, etc.
- Cute spring mugs for my coffee.
…
7:10am – listen to uplifting content while creating content
Another thing I look forward to every morning is watching YouTube and doing some writing. My favorite YouTubers are currently
All of these ladies create inspiring and uplifting content that feels really good to watch. I often have their videos playing in the background while I edit a post or create a pin for pinterest.
I don’t have a ton of time for this part of my morning, but I love it still.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Lighting a spring scented candle.
- Having fresh flowers on my desk.
…
7:30am – get ready
By 7:30am, I need to have a really quick rinse then get ready for work. My outfit will have already been picked out the evening before, so that eliminates some time and brain power during the morning.
Once I’m ready, I grab my lunch (also prepared the night before) and head out.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Another spring scented candle in the bathroom.
- Spring perfume!!!
- Light and colorful outfits I feel great in.
…
8:10am – leave the house and head to work
My commute to work is about 35 minutes, so I use this time to send a good morning voice note to my fiance. After that, I still have some time, so I listen to some uplifting hype music that gets me excited about life.
Romanticizing / Adding Whimsy
- Windows down when possible!
- Spring scented air freshener (can you tell I LOVE adding the scents???)
- Flower car charms.
…
9:00am – WORK WORK WORK
And once my morning routine is done, my work day begins! My morning routine has helped me to like work more. I arrive happy and ready to do my best.
