October Recap

I love love love October! There is quite literally nothing wrong with the month of October that I can think of. This October in particular was so busy and so fun; Halloween fell on the 5th Friday of the month so it feels like we got a little bonus weekend.

I’m super sad it’s over and time is forever going too fast, but I really love looking back and sharing all of the things I’ve been doing and things I’ve been loving <3

Activities:

Wedding Dress Shopping: One of the first weekends this month, my mom flew down from Pennsylvania to take me wedding dress shopping! I got engaged earlier this year and the wedding planning is in full swing. We went to Bella Bridal in Orlando and I found my perfect dress. I honestly cannot recommend this bridal boutique enough! They were so attentive, kind, and professional. I was so happy to have found a dress here at our first stop! My dad actually flew down as well, but he and my fiancé spent their morning fishing.

Spooky Bar Hopping: Orlando has a ton of themed spooky bars. You can read more in my post here, but see some highlights below:

Football Games and Sunday Funday: I took Mo to his first American football game at University of Central Florida. We had sooooo much fun in the bounce house and the Knights won! The energy is always great at college football games and it’s such a classic fall activity. This same weekend, we spent a day in Mount Dora and were able to go out on a boat from town to town. So cool!

Game day ready!
After the win! It cleared out quick since UCF was so far ahead!
Captain Mo!!

Halloween Parties Galore: Like I said, Halloween was on a Friday so the weekend before and the weekend of Halloween were packed with parties! Other than my school costume, which was chosen for me, I kept things super simple this year; I am not as committed to the elaborate costumes as Mo is!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves with coworkers – we actually had such a fun day!!
A bat! And Dog the Bounty Hunter.
A coworker’s Halloween party
Dog the Bounty Hunter (again) and an angel
A friend’s Halloween party – these two are Curious George and the man in the yellow hat; so cute!

OCTOBER READS:

“Crazy Spooky Love,” by Josie Silver / 3 stars / Cute, witchy, and fun!

“The Tenant,” by Freida McFadden / 4 stars / Suspenseful, gripping, and twisty!

“Horror Movie: A Novel,” by Paul Tremblay / 5 stars / Dark, psychological, and…weird!

OCTOBER FAVORITES:

LYSS podcast – I always listen to podcasts during my showers or while I’m cooking and LYSS is such a mood booster and amazing motivator. I feel so empowered and hopeful after listening to her.

The Life of a Showgirl – Ahhhhhh I cannot get on board with anyone saying this is less than perfection! I love every single song on this album but my favorites are Father Figure, Opalite, and Wood.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – this has been my evening show this month and it’s super cozy!! I didn’t make it through all of the seasons, but it was such a cute show. I’m actually just the right amount of invested that I can wait to pick it up until spooky season 2026 🙂

Bonuses: early mornings, cooler weather, flavored matcha, getting my nails done again!

I’ve had such a beautiful year so far and October was no exception!! Time is forever moving too fast so I love looking back on all of the great times that I’ve been so lucky to experience. Here’s to the next month!! xo
