my affordable morning skin care routine

Skin care is one of my favorite kinds of self care! I never had amazing skin, but through trial and error, I have been able to find some products that I (and my skin) love!!

My skin type is prone to hormonal breakouts and discoloration, so I really look for products that are gentle and rejuvenating rather than harsh and stripping. In the morning, I think I have come up with a good blend of exfoliation and nutrient-giving.

Cleanser: La Roche-Posay Hydrating Gentle Cleanser (Amazon)

My skin dries out pretty easily but this facial cleanser works so well for me and it’s really affordable too. I’ve repurchased this a few times already and as someone who has tried numerous medical grade face washes, I can appreciate a quality product that is sold at a reasonable price like this. It’s available at Amazon and Target and also through the La Roche-Posay official website. My boyfriend uses this as well and he definitely appreciates quality skin care.

Toner: Good Molecules Glycolic Exfoliating Toner (Amazon)

I’d say I use this every other morning. I took a break from it a couple months back but I definitely notice a difference when I am using it more regularly. It keeps any breakouts at bay but it also doesn’t dry out my skin. I always love using a toner the morning after a night out or if I didn’t wash my face the night before (gasp), because it seems to give a deeper cleanse than the face wash alone. The linked bottle has lasted me almost a year so far too. Again, it’s a really reasonable price for what I believe to be a great product.

Serum 1: Cocokind Ceramide Serum (Amazon)

This is probably one of my favorite products I’ve ever used! You know when you can’t actually tell if a product is working or your skin is in a “good” phase? This was not one of those products! My skin does have quite a bit of discoloration and scarring from breakouts. I also get dry areas around my nose. But this noticeably repaired my skin in so many ways. I’ve gone through 3 bottles and I am currently taking a break from it, just to test my skin, but I’m about to go right back to it. 10/10 from me!

Serum 2: Ren Glow and Protect Serum (Amazon)

Okay disclaimer because this one isn’t as affordable as the rest. But I really love it. This serum is super light on my skin and smells so fresh. The bottle has lasted me forever because you only need a tiny bit once a day. I feel like it seems in the rest of my skin care and protects it from ~the elements~ of my day.

Moisturizer: Cetaphil Body Moisturizer (Amazon)

I use this for both my face and body! And yes, it is FOR your face and body. I know we’re talking morning skin care, and that typical means face, but our body has skin too. I get extremely dry and itchy legs. Moisturizing in the morning is an absolute must. So when I say I put this everywhere, I pretty much do, from head to toe. It’s also super affordable and I feel validated in my love for it because of the amazing reviews.

I’m always tweaking my morning skin care as the seasons and my skin change. I also LOVE trying out products and taking care of my skin in new ways as I learn more about it.

For now, this is what works for me <3
